About life on the award-winning organic West Lake Farm -
where apple juice and ciders are made
West Lake Farm has been managed organically for over 9 years. An old orchard sparked off the idea of making apple juice and cider. We have been forunate that by sticking to traditional methods for best quality control our hand crafted products began to receive many awards - Taste of the West (2 Silvers, 1 Bronze) Great Taste Awards 2 Golds and 2 Silvers and given top placings by judges at the Bath and West Show.  Guests may enjoy a talk by George who will explain the farm's main business of apple juice production from pruning in the orchard - to the apple- to the finished product on the market stall.

Early mornings at West Lake are filled with birdsong; the Culm grasslands support many wild fowers and butterflies whilst Dragonflies and Damselflies dash about on the pond on sunny afternoons. In the evenings bats take over from Swallows in the hunt for insects around the farmyard.  Barn Owls are sometimes seen at dusk patrolling the rough grassland. Culm grassland is common in this area but rare in Europe. Have a look at what's happening this month on the farm.
Enjoy & discover the wide variety of interests on the farm !
